Introduction to NSST

The Introduction to NSST training is an in-person session designed to help participants build a strong foundation in the core concepts of the Neuroscience and Satir in the Sand Tray (NSST) method. This initial level emphasizes creating safety in the sand tray as a cornerstone of therapeutic work, as well as ensuring clients feel secure in the therapeutic environment. Participants learn how to use the novel metaphor effectively within therapy to guide clients toward deeper self-understanding, using the sand tray as a medium for exploring complex internal experiences.

A key tool introduced at this stage is Satir’s iceberg metaphor, which helps clients explore the layers of their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. By visualizing the hidden aspects of their inner world beneath the surface, both therapist and client can work together to gain insights into underlying issues. This introductory level sets the stage for deeper exploration in later training, ensuring therapists are equipped with the skills to create a safe, supportive space for healing.

Upon completion of this level, you will receive the following designation:
Certified completion of Introduction to NSST
